Creative minds wanted for EdTech Science Slam!

Short, to the point, creative and scientific: that’s Science Slam. At our presentation competition, research, innovative projects and the latest findings are on stage!

You are a scientist or a founder and you are interested in learning or digital media in education? Then we are looking for you!

In the course of the salz21 event, we are organizing a science slam with a focus on educational technology and education.

Science Slam – what is that?

At the Science Slam you get the chance to present your current innovative project or research in six minutes in a pointed, understandable and entertaining way. Without a beamer, but with creative aids (e.g. demo objects, extras, sound recordings to impressively convey complex content). Impressions at www.scienceslam.at

After 6 minutes everyone should understand:

• what you are dealing with
• why the topic fascinates you so much
• what could come out of it one day

At the end of the event, the audience votes on the content, comprehensibility and creativity of each presentation and chooses the slam champion.

Become an EdTech Science Slammer with professional support

Not sure if you can do it? Don’t worry, we will support you in becoming a Science Slam professional!
For all selected Science Slammers, a preparation workshop with Science Slam founder Bernhard Weingartner will be offered on 07.06.2021 from 14.00 to 18.00 in Salzburg: First, there’ll be tips for convincing science communication. And then we will discuss creative ideas for implementation in the interdisciplinary group, thus fine-tuning the content of the presentations.

How can I apply?

To apply for participation in the Science Slam, please send us a short abstract of your presentation idea and a 30-second introduction video to hannes@edtechaustria.at.

Deadline for application: 7.5.201

Finalists will be notified by 11.5.
